Listen with your eyes. See, touch, reflect, experiment. The “Library of strings and knots” is a gateway to generating individual and imaginative experiences. A mysterious mobile library with a circular wooden structure that holds unpublished manuscripts, never-before-published texts, sheet music, drawings, objects found in the trash and cylinders filled with messages made of strings and knots. This installation-show that has toured different cities in Europe has arrived in Portimão and brings with it a “Second Skin” that will surround the “Library of strings and knots”.

Its inner face will be filled with a circular map of the city of Portimão. Using this map, and throughout the year, students from secondary schools in the city of Portimão, guided by their teachers, will draw their “Organic Paths” on this map with the help of strings and pins. A project in constant evolution. The photographs of the shadows of each young person on their “Organic Paths” can be seen on the outside of the “Second Skin”.

Escutar com os olhos. Ver, tocar, refletir, experimentar. A “Biblioteca de cordas e nós” é uma porta de entrada para gerar experiências individuais, e imaginativas. Uma misteriosa biblioteca móvel com uma estrutura circular de madeira que guarda manuscritos inéditos, textos nunca publicados, partituras, desenhos, objetos encontrados no lixo e cilindros cheios de mensagens feitas de cordas e nós. Esta instalação-espetáculo que percorreu diferentes cidades da Europa chegou a Portimão e traz consigo uma “Segunda Pele” que circundará a “Biblioteca de cordas e nós”.

A sua face interna será preenchida por um mapa circular da cidade de Portimão. A partir deste mapa, e ao longo do ano, os alunos das escolas do Ensino Secundário da cidade de Portimão, orientados pelos seus professores, irão traçar neste mapa como são os seus “Caminhos Orgânicos” com a ajuda de fios e alfinetes. Um projeto em evolução contínua. As fotografias das sombras de cada jovem nos seus “Caminhos Orgânicos” poderão ser vistas na parte exterior da “Segunda Pele”.
