One of the highlights of the Official Programme for the City Day Celebrations, in the year in which the city celebrates its centenary, is the exhibition “Portimão 2034 – The Future in 100 Projects”, which will be inaugurated on the City Day, 11 December, at 5:30 pm, in the emblematic Al-Faghar building, once a vibrant centre of commerce, which has now reopened its doors to present an inspiring vision of the city’s future, projected into one hundred initiatives that will shape the next decade.

Spread over four floors, the exhibition is a journey that combines tradition and innovation, progress and preservation, sustainability and growth. In the windows that once displayed the products that dictated fashion, we now glimpse the future of the city. Each project reflects a commitment to urban regeneration, environmental sustainability and social innovation, positioning Portimão as a resilient city, anchored in its identity and ready to face the challenges of a new century.

Here, visitors will discover projects that aim for an inclusive and sustainable future. The historic center and riverside areas gain new functions and meaning, and public spaces are redesigned to create areas of leisure and well-being. Mobility and access are rethought to make life easier for everyone, while education and social responses become pillars of more equitable and inclusive growth.

Um dos destaques do Programa Oficial das Comemorações do Dia da Cidade, no ano em que se celebra o seu centenário é a exposição “Portimão 2034 – O Futuro em 100 Projetos”, que será inaugurada no Dia da Cidade- 11 de dezembro, pelas 17h30, no emblemático edifício Al-Faghar, outrora um centro vibrante de comércio e que reabre agora as suas portas para apresentar uma visão inspiradora do futuro da cidade, projetada em cem iniciativas que irão moldar a próxima década.

Distribuída por quatro pisos, a exposição é uma jornada que combina tradição e inovação, progresso e preservação, sustentabilidade e crescimento. Nas vitrines que em tempos mostravam os produtos que ditavam a moda, vislumbra-se agora o futuro da cidade. Cada projeto reflete o compromisso com a regeneração urbana, a sustentabilidade ambiental e a inovação social, posicionando Portimão como uma cidade resiliente, ancorada na sua identidade e pronta para enfrentar os desafios de um novo século.
