INTRODUCTION TO ORIENTAL DANCE / DANZA DUENDE
22 June • 16:00 - 18:00
20€The ancient art form and dance practice of Raqs Sharqi, commonly known in the West as “Belly Dance”, is a powerful tool for today’s woman (and man) to get back in touch with a more feminine, sensual, graceful and joyful part, to feel good about themselves and their bodies. Following the natural alignment of the body, rather than going against it, this dance has no restrictions of height, weight, body idea of beauty, type or age. Everybody can belly dance and can be graceful and look beautiful doing it. It’s a dance that encourages coordination, rhythm and self-esteem, core strengths, helps building confidence, vitality and beauty and so much more.
I started my journey in 1995 with various local teachers, taking workshops and learning from internationally known dancers, being part of a dance theatre and experimenting with different belly dance styles.
More than 10 years ago I decided to share my knowledge and passion for this dance, which to me is more than just dance. I love to inspire other people and to witness how they discover new aspects of themselves, to empower their feminine spirit and create a community which is supportive in a fun environment.
The way I teach my class is based on a philosophy that is called Danza Duende. That is why I call it “Oriental Duende”. If you like more information:
