“The Weight of Color” On Display At Cmtg

“The Weight of Colour”, an exhibition of paintings by Raquel Taquelim de Almeida, will be on display at Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes from 4 January.

The works reflect on various aspects of both social and aesthetic nature, with a special focus on colour. They are also a cold testimony,

devoid of social prejudices from various quarters, highlighting some elements linked to the volume of bodies.

The plasticity of details of form, colour, contrasts and framing is highlighted, without forgetting romanticism.

This work also led to a deeper analysis, in which the importance of art is highlighted.

Raquel Taquelim de Almeida was born in Lisbon but currently lives in Portimão. In 2014, she completed her degree in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.

She has participated in several group exhibitions. In 2010 and 2011, at the “64th and 65th Salons des Artistes du Hurepoix”, Ville de Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, South Paris; in 2012, at the Contemporary Tapestry exhibition – “Next Vision” -, at the Wool Museum of the University of Beira Interior; in 2013, at the exhibition “18th Exhibition of Visual Arts” in Vendas Novas; at the exhibition “ENTREvenção” at the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum-Library, in Cascais. In 2014, he participated in the ARTLAB Experimental Protocol, contemporary tapestry at the Portalegre Tapestry Museum, also in the group exhibition of Fine Arts Finalists “Painting Today: Part I” at the cultural space, AXA Building. Also in 2014, in partnership, he made a mural for RTP to mark the 40th anniversary of the 25th of April entitled «And After April».

“O Peso Da Cor” Em Exibição Na Cmtg

“O Peso da Cor”, exposição de Pintura de Raquel Taquelim de Almeida estará em exibição na Casa Manuel Teixeira Gomes a partir de 4 de janeiro.

Os trabalhos refletem sobre várias vertentes quer de natureza social, quer de natureza estética, com especial incidência na cor. São ainda um testemunho frio,

despido de preconceitos sociais de vários quadrantes, destacando alguns elementos ligados à volumetria dos corpos.

Ressalta-se a plástica de detalhes da forma, da cor, de contrastes e enquadramentos, sem esquecer o romantismo.

Este trabalho remeteu ainda para uma análise mais profunda, em que se destaca a importância da arte.

Raquel Taquelim de Almeida nasceu em Lisboa mas reside atualmente em Portimão. Concluiu em 2014 a Licenciatura de Pintura na Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa.

Participou em diversas exposições coletivas. Em 2010 e 2011, nos “ 64 et 65 ème Salons des Artistes du Hurepoix”, Ville de Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois, Sud Parisien, em 2012, na exposição de Tapeçaria Contemporânea – ”Next Vision” -, no Museu de Lanifícios da Universidade da Beira Interior; em 2013, na exposição “18ª Exposição de Artes Plásticas” em Vendas Novas; na exposição “ENTREvenção” no Museu-Biblioteca Condes de Castro Guimarães, em Cascais. Em 2014 participou no Protocolo Experimental ARTLAB, tapeçaria contemporânea no Museu de Tapeçaria de Portalegre, também na colectiva de Finalistas de Belas-Artes “Pintura Hoje: Parte I” no espaço cultura, Edifício AXA. Também em 2014 e em parceria fez um mural para a RTP para assinalar os 40 anos do 25 de Abril intitulado «E Depois de Abril».
